About This Kit

900-K41K consists of: 900-K41 (capture antibody, detection antibody, and protein standard), and AVIDIN-60UL (avidin HRP-conjugate).

Human CCL8 (MCP2) ABTS ELISA Development Kit contains the key components required for the quantitative measurement of natural and/or recombinant human CCL8 (MCP2) in a sandwich ELISA format. Human CCL8 (MCP2) ABTS ELISA Development Kit contains enough material to assay the target cytokine in at least 1,000 ELISA plate wells.

The ABTS ELISA Buffer Kit (Product # 900-K00), sold separately, is recommended to be used in conjunction with this ABTS ELISA Development Kit for optimal performance. This buffer kit contains all the necessary components to assay ten 96-well ELISA plates (included) and contains detailed handling instructions.

Target information

This antimicrobial gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. By recruiting leukocytes to sites of inflammation this cytokine may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and to the antiviral state against HIV infection.
